HOW TO CREATE A DREAM INSTAGRAM AESTHETIC FOR YOUR JEWELLERY BUSINESS


1 - DO THE RESEARCH - understand what aesthetic is close to your and your target audience’s heart. Warm/ cold/ bright/ moody/ minimal/ loud. Analyse other brands to see what you love or hate and start building an image of what you’d like YOUR business IG page to look like.

2 - CREATE A PRESET - there are so many youtube tutorials on how to make one. You can even buy a bundle from your favourite photographers/ visual branding professionals for just a few ££ per bundle - all you have to do is download Lightroom, press a couple of buttons and voila!

3 - MAKE SURE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY EXPRESSES YOUR VISION - creating your dream aesthetic is virtually impossible with pixelated phone photos and images that have no value. Research is key here - understand what images you should post online, and if that’s something you’ve been fruitlessly trying to get your head around for a long time, drop us a message and book in a 2 hour-long 1:1 visual aesthetic workshop (£250) to have your perfect IG looks researched, planned out, and ready to go.

4 - SHOWCASE YOUR BRAND’S LIFESTYLE using outsourced content from Pinterest. What is your brand all about? What feeling does it sell alongside your jewellery? Channel this into your feed by scheduling a few ‘lifestyle’ images every month. Flowers, travel, self-care, architecture, coffee breaks - whatever your business is all about, showcase it to the world.

5 - FIND A PATTERN - not sure if that’s my inner OCD is talking, but since my photography has 2 directions: model and product, I avoid having 2 product or 2 model images in a row. A good old chess principle: model-product-model-product is my favourite way to make sure the image aesthetic doesn’t clash and my feed looks tidy. Checkered view of your feed also allows you to play with the space, light, and colours in each image.

6 - PLAN YOUR FEED - there are many apps helping brands do exactly that, although @planoly has to be my favourite one. You can automatically schedule posts and create a perfect feed you’ve always dreamed of.
